Exploring the Depoe Bay Parks

Image of the Oregon coast on a cloudy day.

Part of what makes Depoe Bay so special is the many viewpoints that can be seen from in town. With the Depoe Bay seawall running through the center of town, it offers ample opportunity for whale watching and taking in the views. But there are many other ocean views accessed throughout town, as well as the Depoe Bay parks.

Whale Park

Whale Park is probably one of the most iconic spots in town with the famous whale sculpture at its center. The park is located on the west side of Highway 101, in downtown Depoe Bay. Visitors will find wide-open ocean vistas, plus food and shopping across the street. Whale Park is also home to the Memorial Wall, a tribute to those who never came back from the sea.

With the name Whale Park, you also probably figured out that this is a great spot for whale watching. While almost anywhere in Depoe Bay is an ideal place to see migrating whales, Whale Park is a favorite for visitors with its relaxing benches, perfect for taking in the scenery around you.

Scenic Park

Take in beautiful scenes of Depoe Bay and the Pacific Ocean from the Depoe Bay Scenic Park. Find wooded areas, grassy fields, benches for resting, rocky cliffs, and of course incredible views. Scenic Park is located on the west side of Highway 101 just north of the downtown area.

Grahm Street Scenic Lookout Trail

The first of many mini-trails planned for Depoe Bay, the Graham Street Scenic Lookout Trail is a favorite amongst locals and visitors alike. Located on the south side of the bridge and on the west side of Coast Avenue, the short trail features a beautiful ocean view at the end of the trail with a bench.

Depoe Bay City Park

Think of Depoe Bay City Park as more of a green space with a playground, picnic areas, and views- ideal for families and a picnic lunch.

Other scenic viewpoints nearby

While these Depoe Bay parks are sure to offer you stunning views of the Oregon Coast, there are other scenic viewpoints nearby worth a day’s drive from Depoe Bay. From Boiler Bay to Rocky Creek, there’s always something to see!
