Halloween is almost here, and though it may not be till the end of the month, spooky events and activities are occurring throughout October! Local ghouls and goblins celebrate the spooky season by exploring pumpkin patches, facing their fears with a ghost tour, and much more. The Haunted Taft
Throughout October, The Haunted Taft will be hosting tours of Siletz Bay. The tour guides tell tales of all the resident ghosts in the Oregon coast area and other haunted histories. The highlight of this tour is keeping your eyes peeled on Siletz Bay; there’s a great chance you’ll see the Ghost Schooner materializing on the water!
Ghost Story Tours at Heceta Lighthouse
An hour south of Depoe Bay stands the Heceta Lighthouse. This landmark stands alone atop a hill and is home to some Oregon spirits. On October 30th, a ghost tour will be hosted at the Heceta Head lightkeeper’s house! Hear the tales of ghostly encounters surrounding the lighthouse and maybe even meet the lighthouse’s friendly spirits during your visit.
Dia de los Muertos Night Run
Lace up your running shoes this spooky season and take on a 5K! The Dia de Los Muertos Night Run will be hosted in Newport on October 29. While this run provides spooky fun, it is also a terrific opportunity to participate in this cultural tradition of remembering loved ones who have passed.
The Cheeky Cauldron
Witches and Wizards rejoice! The Cheeky Cauldron is in Lincoln City and is a Harry Potter-inspired café. They host high tea afternoons in a witchy atmosphere and experiences brewing your own “dark potions” in the evening. The café’s owners, the Moon sisters, also do tarot and oracle readings, perfect for this Halloween season!
