While we love the coast, there is so much more to do and see in Oregon. So, we’ve rounded up a few of our top things to do when visiting Oregon.

Visit wine country

The Willamette Valley region in Oregon is home to most of the state’s farms, vineyards, and orchards. Relish in the farm-to-table movement by visiting one of the many wineries and restaurants that dot the expansive valley for a true taste of Oregon. Explore outdoors with the region’s many trails and scenic backroads that pass through many covered bridges.

Stand in awe at Multnomah Falls

Oregon is home to hundreds of waterfalls throughout the state, but the most notable and most popular is Multnomah Falls. Located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Multnomah Falls is a 611-foot cascade of water that plunges into the basalt cliffs below. It is the tallest waterfall in Oregon. The falls are accessed from the Historic Columbia River Highway.

Visit the capital city

Most likely if you are visiting from out of state and are flying, then you will fly into Portland. The capital city of Oregon, Portland is an eclectic mix of vintage record stores, famous bookstores, craft breweries, and casual trendy restaurants, all waiting to be explored.

Visit Mount Hood

The iconic peak of Mount Hood can be seen from miles and miles away, but be sure to take the time to visit, whether you have ambitious plans to summit the mountain or not. From skiing, wildflower viewing, hiking, and biking there are plenty of ways to experience the beauty of Mount Hood.

Attend the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival

Every spring, the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm & Vineyard hosts a festival where they invite visitors to come and see and photograph the rows and rows of colorful tulips that make their appearance each spring season. The farm is located in the rural town of Woodburn.
